1. Hot Water & Gas Cylinder
The gas cylinder responsible for heating your water is located directly behind the toilet.
Automatic Ignition: The system is designed to ignite automatically as soon as the warm water tap is turned on.
Troubleshooting: If the gas is turned on but the water remains cold, it is likely that the battery for the electrical starter needs to be replaced.
Spare Batteries: You will find a supply of spare batteries in the cupboard located next to the dining table. Please replace the old one, and the system should spark back to life immediately.
2. Electricity & Appliance Usage (Crucial)
The house maintains its original circuit breaker installation. While charming, it does mean the electrical capacity is limited. To avoid losing power, please adhere to the following "one-at-a-Time" rule for heavy appliances:
The Power Tripping Rule: You cannot use the kettle and the dishwasher simultaneously. Similarly, you cannot use the kettle and the oven together, or the dishwasher and the oven together.
The Fridge Connection: If the power trips because too many appliances were used, the fridge will stop working. If you hear a click or notice the lights go out, please reset the breaker immediately to ensure your food stays cold and the fridge remains operational.
3. Linens & Outdoor Blanket Policy
We want you to enjoy our beautiful garden, but we ask that you take care of our indoor comforts:
Fleece Blankets: Under no circumstances are the fleece blankets allowed outside on the grass. These are for indoor use only.
Garden Blankets: If you would like to lounge on the lawn, please use the older orange blankets specifically provided for outdoor use. These can be found in the linen storage area.
4. Smoking Policy
To keep the interior fresh for all guests, we maintain a strict no-smoking policy inside the house.
Outdoor Smoking: You are more than welcome to smoke anywhere in the outdoor areas or garden.
Cigarette Disposal: We kindly ask that you do not throw cigarette butts on the ground or in the garden beds. Please use the provided ashtrays or dispose of them safely in the external bin once they are fully extinguished.
5. General Care & Safety
Water Pressure: To ensure a steady flow of hot water, try to avoid running the washing machine or garden hose while someone is showering.
Windows & Doors: When leaving the house, please ensure all windows are latched and the gas cylinder is turned off if you are departing for an extended period.
Noise: Please be mindful of our neighbor's and keep noise to a respectful level, especially after 10:00 Pm.
